Terms of Use
This is an English reference translation. If it differs from the Korean original, the Korean original prevails. These terms set out the conditions and procedures for using Tears of Prayer (the "App"), and the rights and duties of users and the operator.
1. Definitions
Usage time: the time used to turn prayers into text and receive encouragement and a verse. When you pray with "Encouragement & verse" on, it decreases by the length of your prayer.
Free trial: 10 minutes given once per account at your first login.
Bonus time: extra time given when you top up (5% for KRW 5,000, 7% for KRW 10,000, 10% for KRW 30,000).
Pray together: a feature for praying for prayer requests other users posted without their names (intercession).
2. Effect and changes
These terms take effect when posted in the App. When we change them, we announce it in the App at least 7 days before (30 days if the change is unfavorable to users).
3. Sign-up and login
You log in with a Kakao, Naver or Google account (Apple on iPhone), or with email (a 6-digit code sent to you). Only people aged 16 or older can use this app. You can record prayer time and count without logging in.
4. Services
Recording prayers and turning them into text, summarizing prayers with encouragement, verse recommendations, a prayer calendar and statistics, Bible videos (YouTube), and Pray together.
Bible videos are chosen automatically from YouTube according to criteria set by the operator (Protestant scripture and devotional channels, not heretical, Catholic or music channels, and not advertising, fundraising or political videos), and the operator does not watch each video in advance. Each video's content is made by its channel. If a video is not appropriate, tap "Report this video" on the video screen and we will take it down right away; channels that receive complaints are removed from the list.
5. Limits of AI results
Encouragement and verses are chosen by AI and may be wrong. They do not replace pastoral counseling, medical or legal advice.
If a prayer suggests a dangerous situation, the App shows where to get help. In an emergency, call 109 (suicide prevention line) or 119 right away in Korea, or your local emergency number.
6. Prices and usage time
Summarizing one minute of prayer costs KRW 10. Top-up units are KRW 1,000 (100 min), KRW 5,000 (525 min), KRW 10,000 (1,070 min) and KRW 30,000 (3,300 min), including bonus time.
Monthly plans: Little prayer (KRW 2,900 a month, 300 min a month), Steady prayer (KRW 5,900 a month, 750 min a month) and Full prayer (KRW 9,900 a month, 1,500 min a month). Outside Korea, the local price shown in Google Play applies.
A monthly plan renews automatically through Google Play on the same day each month, and each payment gives you that period's plan time. Plan time expires on the next payment date and does not carry over.
Upgrading takes effect right away: you pay the difference for the rest of the period and receive plan time in the same proportion. Downgrading takes effect from the next payment date.
You can cancel a monthly plan at any time in Google Play; after canceling you can still use plan time until the paid period ends. If a payment is late, you may keep using it for a while under Google Play's policy; if payment never goes through, plan time stops.
Time is used in this order: plan time, free time (trial and rewards), bonus time, paid time (whatever expires first goes first).
If a prayer is longer than your remaining usage time, we summarize the first part up to the remaining time without asking, and tell you in the result.
Purchased time can be used for 5 years from the top-up date (bonus time too).
Bonus time is given 48 hours after payment. If the payment is refunded or canceled before then, it is not given.
Referrals: a referral code can be entered once within 7 days of signing up. The person who entered the code gets 30 minutes after finishing their first prayer, and the referrer gets 10 minutes. When the referred person tops up for the first time, the referrer gets 10% of that top-up's time (up to 60 minutes). Referral rewards can be used for 30 days from receipt and are not refundable.
No reward is given for a referral code entered on a phone that another account has used. If one person refers more than 20 people in a month, the referrer's rewards are given after a check.
7. Withdrawal and refunds
Within 7 days of a top-up, if none of it has been used, we refund it in full.
After 7 days, or if part of it has been used, we refund the remaining paid time of that top-up, converted to its purchase price, minus 10%.
Bonus time and the free trial are not refunded.
For a monthly plan, if none of that period's plan time has been used within 7 days of payment, we refund it in full; otherwise we refund the remaining plan time of that period, converted to its price, minus 10%.
Payments made through Google Play follow Google Play's refund process; if Google refunds a payment, the remaining time of that top-up is taken back.
Time already used from a top-up that was refunded or canceled through Google Play remains as "time owed" and is deducted first from usage time you receive afterwards (top-ups, footprint rewards, referral rewards, etc.).
An account with two or more payments refunded or canceled after using the top-up within the last 180 days may be restricted from making new payments (test payments excluded).
Before you delete your account, we first guide you to a refund of any remaining paid time.
8. Pray together
Only logged-in users can use it. Prayer requests can be up to 200 characters, up to 5 per day, and are shown to other users without names. They close automatically after 30 days.
The user who posts a prayer request is responsible for its content. You may not post information that can identify other people (such as names, phone numbers or addresses), advertising, abusive language or hate speech. The operator may take down content unsuitable for a prayer request without the user's consent.
Before posting, AI checks for personal information, inappropriate content and crisis expressions. If it sees a crisis expression, it first shows where to get help and suggests a version without those words. The AI's judgment may be wrong.
If another user reports a request, it is taken down right away without asking for a reason, and the poster is told through in-app news. Each user can report up to 5 times a day.
Pray together uses usage time like an ordinary prayer and gives a verse and encouragement. Every prayer counts as praying together whatever its length, and for a prayer of 1 minute or more, 10% of its length is returned as usage time. Returned time can be used for 5 years and is not refundable. Time already returned stays even if the request is taken down.
When posting a request you choose one category, and 6 short words matching the category and request are set (some are made by AI). People who prayed can leave one of them, and the poster can leave a fixed reply (Thank you / It was answered) once when closing the request.
9. User obligations
You must not use other people's information, break the law, disrupt the normal operation of the App, or unfairly take the free trial multiple times.
10. Changes and suspension of service
We may change or temporarily stop the service for maintenance or unavoidable reasons, and will announce it in the App in advance. If the service ends, we refund remaining paid time.
11. Account deletion
You can delete your account at any time in Settings. Deleting removes your login information, the account's usage time (free, footprints, returned and purchased time) and the prayer requests you posted in Pray together, and cannot be undone. If you have paid time left, we guide you to a refund before deletion, and delete only if you agree that it will be lost. That account's prayer records on the phone are deleted too. A phone that has been used to sign up must log in afterwards to use usage time.
12. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for unavoidable causes such as natural disasters, for users' own faults, or for the content of AI results. Damage caused by the operator's intent or gross negligence is excluded from this limitation.
13. Disputes
Disputes are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, and the competent court is determined under the Korean Civil Procedure Act.
